We believe that God is alive and wants a relationship with us. He sent Jesus Christ to accomplish this reconciliation and when we give our lives to Him, we have new life, and access to all the wonderful things a relationship with God can bring.
We believe that the Word of God (the Bible) is God's true word to us and that it governs all we believe and teach, and how we live our lives. To this end we study, teach, and seek to live by this Word. Because we are human, we are not perfect, but we are forgiven. God is still working on us!
We believe in being active as Jesus' hands and feet both in Sackville and around the world. It is part of who we are to show and tell others about the love of God.
We believe that every follower of Jesus Christ has equal access to God and also equal responsibility to love God and love others.
We believe that we need to work together to achieve all that God intended for us to be. Being a follower of Jesus Christ means being part of the "family" and sharing in the joys and struggles of life. We can only help each other if we stick together.
Our foundational principles are as follows:
Biblical Authority & Lordship of Jesus Christ
Autonomy of the Local Church
Priesthood of all Believers
Two Ordinances: Baptism & Communion
Individual Soul Liberty
Saved & Baptized Church Membership
Trinitarian View of the Godhead
Separation of Church and State
Our Core Values
We are a congregation that values Growth, Integrity, Faith, Teamwork, and Love.
We believe in growing spiritually through teaching and personal study centred on the Word of God – lifelong learning in wisdom, in knowledge, and in relationships. [John 15:5-8]
We believe in modelling integrity. That is to say, that all of life is integrated into our relationship with Christ, and all of life must reflect the character and priorities of Jesus. [1 John 2:3-6]
We believe in living by faith in the living God. We strive to be wholly devoted followers of Jesus Christ. [Matthew 16:24-27]
We believe in working together. Every disciple of Jesus has the privilege and responsibility to partner for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Everyone has been gifted for the common good. [1 Corinthians 12:4-12]
We believe in loving others through compassionate ministry that welcomes everyone, cares for our community, and meets people at their level of spiritual interest. [Matthew 22:37-40]
